Swimwear For Your Body Shape

It is that time of year again, and for me I need a new swimsuit as I have been wearing the one that I used during pregnancy - the cups are now woefully empty!

If you are a small busted woman then add some oomph with a swimsuit that has some type of detail at the breast such as stripes, patterns or a tie front. Strapless tubes can just squish anything that is already there, so stay away from those, but keep an eye out for swimsuits with built in padding for that extra bit of a boost.

Built in support is available in many swimsuits, so larger busted women can rejoice.  Avoid anything with unnecessary details such as stripes, or ruffles - but small patterns are good.

A halter neck can be a fantastic option as you can still get the support of the thicker straps in a fashionable way.  This swimsuit featured has a gorgeous supportive crossover, and the wrap detailing across the tummy is so flattering, the same way all those wrap dresses and tops are.

If you want to disguise bigger thighs wear a darker color on the bottom and a lighter color on top, or choose a swimsuit that is two toned following the same principal. Another thing to consider that may seem counter intuitive is to wear a high cut leg. This is because if you choose a low cut leg it may be drawing a line across your widest part, thereby creating a centre of focus, so go for a higher cut and draw the eye upwards.

If your tummy area isn't the greatest don't wear a bikini, go for a one piece, or a tankini instead - a bikini bottom, with a singlet tank top in two parts.   Also if you are a pear shape you can purchase a darker coloured bottom and pair it with a top that is a complimentary brighter colour and or pattern just like this tankini featured here.

Being able to purchase separates also means that often you can purchase different sizes ie. a ten top and a twelve bottom.

Kaftans, sarongs and cover ups are all fantastic options to team up with your swimsuit and can pull the whole thing together. But if you are enjoying yourself that is the most positive thing about wearing a swimsuit and by choosing the best option for your body shape you can do just that.

The swimsuits above are all featured on www.truly.co.nz and are available from www.sequinsandsand.com.au
